Student Exchange Program

Work and Travel Program

The Future of Flight Foundation sponsors a Work and Travel Program for college students from around the world, providing them with invaluable experiences and an introduction to the Pacific Northwest.

Students assist with ticket sales and customer service at the Future of Flight Aviation Center (FoFAC), and translate for visitors from their home countries. After working 8-12 weeks at the FoFAC, students often travel on their own time and expense throughout the U.S.

Our Work and Travel Program elicits a deeper cultural understanding between the students, our Foundation staff, volunteers, and visitors. Many students enjoy working in the U.S. and return for graduate studies or employment.

Donations allow us to increase student enrollment, while we continue to encourage learning, global understanding, and collaboration.

$7,500 covers one student's entire program expenses.

Student Exchange Program

The Future of Flight Foundation also facilitates a Student Exchange Program between the United Kingdom's Royal Air Force Museum and area technical and community colleges.

For two weeks each year, two students from the U.S. and two students from the Royal Air Force Museum enjoy reciprocal access to leading aviation experts and facilities. Students often find these interactive, experiential apprenticeships to be life changing.

Our goal is to expand this program to include university and college students from around the world.

Donations allow us to provide financial assistance, when needed.

$5,700 covers one student's entire program expenses (in our 2009 limited program).
