Work with a cadre of teacher leaders to improve content knowledge and teaching strategies, and earn a “Decide Now” discount on registration for your class when you sign them up for one of our education programs. Workshops are also offered to try programs in advance, including Gliding into Innovation, the Boeing Career Tour, Xenoplanes, and Aerospace Maker Project.
The Future of Flight Foundation is an OSPI approved clock hour provider. Our first workshop, Gliding into Innovation (Educator Edition) will be offered October 11th, 2014. The second workshop, Maker Space and Boeing Career Tour (Educator Edition), will be offered on December 6th, 2014. TAB provides recommendations for curriculum alignment, ideas for teacher professional development, and suggestions for other programs and events. TAB will meet one Saturday a quarter, from 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at the Future of Flight Aviation Center. TAB members receive program discounts when they register their class. Our first meeting is on Saturday, December 13th.
Volunteering at the Future of Flight Foundation offers you new experiences and a wide range of responsibilities. It’s a great opportunity to grow your skills and have fun. We’re recruiting volunteers for various activities including: Family Zone Facilitators, Science of Flight Explainers, Weekend Family Workshop Leaders, Maker Space Mentors, Special Event Volunteers, Teacher Advisory Board User Group Members, and Education Committee Members. We have developed a wide range of new programs designed to address teachers’ needs for additional learning in their classrooms. These engaging programs are aligned to Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math according to subject matter.

AMP offers students going into grades 6-12 the opportunity to learn and create their own solutions to the question “How Are Planes Made?” AMP student-makers will gain new skills and knowledge to communicate about materials science, airplane manufacturing, and 3D printing technology, all while having fun and being one of the first to use our new Aerospace Maker Space. Starts October 6th. This program is made possible by grants from the University of Washington and The National Science Foundation.

BOEING CAREER TOUR
We have designed a tour that focuses on careers pursued by those building Boeing aircraft. From assembly to quality assurance, this tour will help your students understand the variety of careers and roles that allow these amazing airplanes to be built. The program includes a 90-minute career-focused factory tour, with a Career Find-and- Seek activity and a Career Pathways discussion. Closed-toe shoes are required.
Grade Level: 5 - 8, or 9 - 12
Group Size: 20-45
Schedule: Tuesdays at 9:30 or 10:00 a.m. in January and February, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from March to May
Program Length: 3 Hours
Chaperone Ratio: 1:10. Extra chaperones may not exceed bus limitation of 50 total guests.
Additional chaperones are $20 per person.
Fees: Members - $200, All Others - $250
